Brenda (Lappin) Randell, 59, of Cedar Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, peacefully at her home in Cedar surrounded by family and friends. She was born on July 10, 1965, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Marion Keith and Dolores JoAnne (Shipp) Ward. Brenda graduated from H-L-V High School with the class of 1983. She had two sons, Darren Gregson in 1985 and Cody Gregson in 1988. Brenda was united in marriage to Steve Lappin on October 17, 1992, in Cedar, Iowa, to this union a son Levi was born in 1993. After Steve’s passing in 2011, she married Michael Randell on November 17, 2017.

Brenda started her working career at Clow Valve Company as a buying agent where she was employed for 32 years until her health made her unable to work. In her free time she loved spending time with her family at her home, reunions, and camping. She found joy in antiquing and collecting anything Amish. Brenda was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes and Kansas City Chiefs fan. When she couldn’t attend games, she loved hosting parties. She went all out decorating her home and loved having a good time. She also loved spending time with her dog, Monkie, and relaxing at home.

Brenda is survived by her husband; Michael Randell of Cedar, IA, six children; April (Troy) Conger of Hedrick, Kyle (Rachael) Lappin of Oskaloosa, Steven (Coltin) Lappin-Lux of Honolulu, HI, Darren Gregson of Des Moines. Cody (Victoria) Gregson of Des Moines, Brandon Randell of Des Moines, and Levi (Chase) Lappin of North Liberty; eleven grandchildren; her siblings; Cindy (Gary) Gryp of Cedar Rapids, Darrell Ward of Oskaloosa, Brian (Rhonda) Ward of Ladora, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Steve Lappin, and her mother and father-in-law Douglas and Donna Lappin.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 12, 2024, at 10:30 AM at the Fremont Funeral Chapel with Chaplin Joyce Hoyt officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery in Fremont. The Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday, August 11, 2024, from 2:00 to 4:00pm with Brenda’s family present at the Fremont Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation can be made to MHP Hospice Serenity House
