Ottumwa, IA – The greater Ottumwa area will have no shortage of vibrant music and entertainment this coming year, many thanks to the lineup recently announced by the Ottumwa Symphony Orchestra (OSO). Events on the OSO schedule include a holiday concert during which they will be joined by an award-winning trio, The Texas Tenors.

OSO Board President, Luke Miller, shares, “We are thrilled to announce the return of the Texas Tenors for our highly anticipated Christmas concert. With their incredible talent and show-stopping performances, this is sure to be a holiday event you won’t want to miss.”

Starting the season off with their Fall Concert on Sunday, October 5 at 7:30 pm, the orchestra will perform works by Ormandy, Mozart, Brahms, Moncayo, and more at St. John Auditorium, located on the Indian Hills Community College campus. Single concert tickets are available online at ottumwasymphonyorchestra.org or as part of your OSO Season Ticket. Season tickets can be purchased online as well.

The entire 2024-2025 Season, aptly titled “Music Gives Flight to the Imagination”, promises to be filled with high points and soaring surprises. OSO’s conductor, Dr. William LaRue Jones, expands a bit on the theme:

Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and life to everything. These words were written by the ancient Greek philosopher, Plato, approximately 400 BC; they still resonate today.

OSO has prepared a series of concerts for the 2024/2025 season that will offer a glimpse into cultures past and present. We look forward to sharing an exhilarating season with you and promise to give “wings to the mind and flight to the imagination.”
