An Ottumwa woman is accused of breaking into a home, taking a shower, and assaulting a jailer.
40-year-old Lacey Mills was charged with 2nd degree burglary – person present, and assault on person in certain occupation.
On August 7 at 5:38 p.m, court records say Mills entered an occupied residence on Hamilton Street. According to authorities, Mills took a shower in the residence and stole the victim’s clothes. The victim called the police and Mills fled before officers arrived.
Mills was arrested and refused to change out of the victim’s clothes. According to jail staff, Mills was yelling, cursing, and threw a toilet paper roll at the chest of a jailer.
Mills is located at the Wapello County Jail. She is being held without bond pending a hearing with a magistrate judge.
