Basketball season in Southeast Iowa is electric — and we need a voice behind the mic to bring the action
to life.
Ottumwa Radio Group is seeking a Part-Time Play-by-Play Announcer for Fairfield Boys & Girls
Basketball broadcasts streamed live on the Ottumwa Radio YouTube Channel.
If you can paint the picture of a fast break, buzzer beater, or packed rivalry game with excitement and
professionalism, this could be your shot.
Responsibilities
– Broadcast live Fairfield Boys & Girls Basketball games
– Deliver energetic and accurate play-by-play commentary
– Research teams, players, and storylines before broadcasts
– Coordinate with broadcast staff during live events
– Maintain professionalism on-air and in the community
– Engage listeners and create an entertaining broadcast experience
Preferred Qualifications
– Knowledge of basketball rules and flow of the game
– Clear and confident speaking ability
– Ability to stay composed during live broadcasts
– Strong attention to detail
– Dependable transportation and scheduling flexibility
– Previous broadcasting or announcing experience preferred, but not required
Compensation
– $50 per game plus mileage reimbursement

We’re looking for someone with energy, personality, quick thinking, and a true passion for high school
athletics and local communities.
Responsibilities
– Provide live play-by-play coverage of Cardinal Football games
– Deliver exciting, accurate, and engaging game calls
– Prepare game notes, player information, and statistics
– Arrive early for setup and broadcast preparation
– Work with producers, engineers, and sports staff
– Represent Ottumwa Radio Group professionally at events
– Help create a positive experience for listeners, viewers, athletes, and sponsors
Preferred Qualifications
– Strong speaking voice and communication skills
– Knowledge of football rules and terminology
– Ability to think quickly under pressure
– Dependable and punctual
– Broadcasting, announcing, podcasting, or public speaking experience preferred
– Passion for local sports is a must

Ottumwa Radio Group is seeking a motivated, energetic, and relationship-driven Radio & Digital Sales
Executive to join our growing team. This position focuses on helping local businesses succeed through
customized advertising and marketing solutions across radio, digital, video, streaming, social media, and
more.
This territory includes areas such as Jefferson, Van Buren, and Keokuk Counties.
Sales experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person with ambition, confidence, and
strong communication skills.
What You’ll Do
– Build and maintain strong relationships with local businesses
– Develop customized radio and digital advertising campaigns
– Prospect and generate new business opportunities
– Meet with clients in person throughout the region
– Create marketing strategies designed to help businesses grow
– Present advertising proposals and close sales
– Coordinate campaigns with internal creative and production teams
– Maintain client communication and account management
– Represent Ottumwa Radio Group professionally in the community
