Girls State Wrestling Champion, Jasmine Luedtke has been named the Grand Marshal of the 2023 Ottumwa Oktoberfest Parade.

The parade will be held on October 7th at 10:00 AM in downtown Ottumwa.

Luedtke is an exceptional athlete, having successfully qualified for both the boys’ and girls’ state tournaments. Her talent was showcased when she achieved an impeccable record of 33-0 during the first-ever sanctioned girls’ tournament in February. She stands among the first 10 girls in Iowa history as champions.

Iowa sanctioned the sport in 2022 and included more than 2400 girls registered and eligible to wrestle in the inaugural season. In Ottumwa, the sport continues to increase including both a strong middle school and high school program coached by Isaiah Cox.

“It was amazing. Everything she’s done, she wrestled for the both us out there. It’s a dream for a wrestler to get to a state championship. I’m so happy that Jasmine achieved that dream.” Ottumwa Girls’ Wrestling Head Coach Isaiah Cox

Jasmine Luedtke and the Ottumwa Girls Wrestling team are taking part in the Oktoberfest Kiddie Parade on Friday, October 6th at 6:00 PM on Church Street. In the event of rain, the parade will be held at the Quincy Place Mall. They will also be present in the Oktoberfest Tent after the parade to receive a check presentation before the Battle of the Bands.
