One man was seriously injured when a semi truck and a field sprayer collided in Mahaska County on Friday afternoon.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the two vehicles were traveling southbound on Highway 163 east of Pella at 2:30 PM.
The accident report states the semi, driven by 49-year-old Robert Weed of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, struck the rear of the field sprayer driven by 65-year-old Lee Deprenger of Otley, Iowa.
Weed reportedly suffered life-threatening injuries and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Deprenger was taken to Pella Regional to address what authorities described as a possible minor injury.
The Iowa State Patrol says both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
