A southeast Iowa pedestrian died after being struck by a garbage truck on Thursday.
49-year-old Brian Whittaker of Burlington died from his injuries, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The accident report states at 10:08 AM, Whittaker, who was hearing impaired, was attempting to cross a street when he was hit by a garbage truck while it was backing up on Isabell Avenue.
The accident remains under investigation.
