A Sigourney man is facing a harassment charge after allegedly threatening to kill a store manager during a late-night confrontation in March.
Sean Slechta, 52, has been charged with Harassment in the Second Degree, a serious misdemeanor. The alleged incident occurred on March 26th, 2026 at approximately 10:00 p.m., though the warrant was not served until August 5th.
According to court documents, Slechta arrived at a local business at closing time to pick up somebody after their shift ended. A verbal altercation ensued after the store manager told Slechta that the person was not there. The manager told Slechta he needed to leave and that loitering was not permitted. Slechta allegedly used his vehicle to block the manager from leaving and made threats that he was going to kill him by beating him to death.
Slechta has since posted his $1,000 surety bond. A hearing is scheduled for August 21st.
