The Centerville High School football cheerleaders are heading to state, and the community is invited to help send them off in style!
A special police and fire escort is planned for Saturday, November 7, at 8 a.m., as the cheerleaders depart Centerville for the 2026 Iowa High School Cheerleading State Championships.
Community members are encouraged to find a safe place to park along the departure route, bring signs and pom-poms, wave, honk their horns and cheer loudly as the team makes its way out of town.
The send-off route will begin at Lakeview, traveling north on Main Street, east on Highway 2 (Maple Street), and then north on Highway 5 (18th Street) as the group heads out of Centerville.
Residents are encouraged to line the route in scarlet and black to show their support and hometown pride for the cheerleaders as they head to the state competition.
The cheerleaders are scheduled to perform at 12:40 p.m. Saturday at the 2026 Iowa High School Cheerleading State Championships, held at the Jacobson Exhibition Center at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines.
Community members are encouraged to come out, show their support and help make this a memorable send-off for the Centerville cheerleaders!
