Larry Duane Eklofe, 87, of Ottumwa died at 9:21 p.m. February 24, 2026 at Good Samaritan Society – Ottumwa.
He was born July 29, 1938 in Iowa City to Alvin and Ruth McClarnon Eklofe. Larry married Marilyn Shelton February 7, 2000 and she preceded him in death October 27, 2005.
Larry served in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963. He had worked for Coca-Cola for 10 years and Lancaster Oil for over 50 years.
He was a member and Past Commander of O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #114.
Surviving are his children, Lori Eklofe of Agency, Christine (John) Eddy of Ottumwa, Jacki (Jerry) Munkirs of Agency, Kevin (Jody) Eklofe of Agency and Corey (Brenda) Eklofe of Ottumwa; a step-daughter, Kelli (Nick) Bankson; 7 grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; several great grandchildren, his siblings, Violet Zook, Marlene (Darrell) Black, Bob (Linda) Eklofe, Marlin Eklofe, Delna Eklofe, Leona (Darrell) Swope, Colleen Conger, Chuck (Cheryl) Eklofe, Tina Eklofe, Rick (Joy) Eklofe, Bonnie (David) Kopsieker and Loretta (Willie) Messerschmitt; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Sam Eklofe, Mary Ann Knotts, Sandra Bloomquist, Jerry Eklofe, Joe Eklofe, Gary Eklofe and Dixie Carder.
His body has been cremated.
A time to celebrate his life will be held at a later date.
