George E. Jackson, 75, of Ottumwa, Iowa passed away peacefully surrounded by his family after a courageous journey.

He was born on August 31, 1950 in Ottumwa to Charles and Mary Shively Jackson.

George retired from John Deere Ottumwa Works where he took great pride in his work and built lasting friendships. Outside of work, he enjoyed his noon tee times with the guys at Cedar Creek Golf Course, cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes and St. Louis Cardinals. He also appreciated a cold bud light.

Above all, George was a devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughters, Keeley (Kevin Cobler and boys) Jackson and Bridgett (Rod) Grooms; and grandchildren, Stella Jackson, Zackary, Emily, Jacob, Elita, and Genesis Grooms. His family will forever hold close his steady presence, quick wit, and unwavering love.

George’s legacy lives on in the kindness he showed, the memories he created, and deep love of his family. He will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.

George was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Mary Jackson.

Visitation will be open after 11 a.m. Wednesday December 3rd at Reece Funeral Home with his family present to greet friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Private interment will be in Shaul Cemetery.

A reception to further celebrate his life will be held Saturday December 6th at O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion Hall from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Memorials may be made to Cedar Creek Golf Course.
