Kyle Morgan, 65, of Rose Hill died Monday, August 10, 2026, at home after a brief battle with cancer. He was born August 17, 1960, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Keith and Myrna Stevenson Morgan. Kyle attended school in Creston and Oskaloosa and went on to earn his A.A. in Machine Technology from Indian Hills with honors. On October 6, 1978, he was united in marriage to Alma Kauffman in Oskaloosa. To this union three children were born, Misty, Jason, and Kyla. Kyle worked various places in the area, retiring early from PPI in Pella. Kyle enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting & fishing. He loved motocross and playing bass guitar, gardening and searching for bargains at auctions. He served several terms as mayor of Rose Hill and volunteered countless hours mowing and working on community improvement projects. He and Alma were also active at the Rose Hill Community Church.

His family includes his wife of over 47 years Alma Morgan of Rose Hill; three children, Misty (Joseph) Vande Wall of Rose Hill, Jason (Trisha Fisher) Morgan of Delta, and Kyla (Matthew) TerLouw of Fremont; four grandchildren, Addison (fiancée Melissa Moorman) Vande Wall, Ava (Ben) Hunt, Carson TerLouw, Cohen TerLouw; two sisters, Rhonda (Steve) Davis of Creston and Susan (Rob) Hertzberg of Urbandale; a brother, Joe (Kristi) Frederick of Osceola; his beloved dog, Patches; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepparents, Ed Frederick and Anita Morgan and a stepbrother, Doug Frederick.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Rose Hill Community Building in Rose Hill on Monday, August 17, 2026, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. At 7:30 there will be a public time of sharing and eulogy for Kyle. Following the time of sharing burial of the urn will be in the Jackson Cemetery west of Rose Hill. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter.
