Jane Asperheim, age 87, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the MHP Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa. She was born on April 14, 1939, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of John and Norma (Kroogman) Ferron. She attended high school in Rockton, Illinois, graduating with the Class of 1957. Jane then furthered her education at Northern Illinois University. On May 20, 1961, she was united in marriage to Robert Asperheim.
Jane worked as an early evaluation assistant and then later as a classroom assistant at Glenwood Schools in Waukegan, Illinois, for 25 years until her retirement in 1997. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, dancing, studying genealogy and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. Jane was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waukegan, Illinois.
She is survived by her daughters, Kelly Asperheim of Oskaloosa, IA and Tammy (Ron) Kaye of Norman, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Andrew Kaye, Erin Kaye and Steven Kaye and two sisters, Kay Ferron of Beloit, Wisconsin and Rose (Greg) Wolter of Kings, Illinois.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert and her in-laws, Ruth Arnold and Carroll Asperheim.
As was her wish, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will take place at a later date in Waukegan, Illinois. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Waukegan, St Joseph’s Indian School, or Serenity Hospice House
