We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Steve Clark, born on October 28, 1950, in Albia, IA, USA, who left this world peacefully on August 9, 2026. Steve, a beloved father, grandfather, and partner.
He was a man of few words but never hesitated to crack a few corny dad jokes. He really enjoyed listening to oldies and watching a good sci-fi movie. He was the helper of the homework and was always excited lend a hand on a good science fair project. If you asked a question, he was determined to find the answer. He also enjoyed being around children and they seemed to really like him.
Steve was a man who found joy and fulfillment in his work. He spent many years assembling commercial equipment at Vermeer Mfg, a role he took pride in. One of his most cherished professional achievements was the recognition he received while working on missile silos in Kansas during his time in the Air Force. This honor brought him immense satisfaction, as he deeply valued the opportunity to serve his country. Yet, despite his professional accolades, what mattered most to Steve was his family. He was a devoted partner to Tracy Cook, a loving dad to Stephanie (Clark) Villalobos, Tiffany (Bowling) Ballalatak, and Kristen Bowling-Clyde and a doting grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Lily, Delilah, Dylan, Leham, Mitzi, Loken and Hawkins. His love for them knew no bounds, and he cherished every moment spent in their company.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, George and Zelphia Clark, and his brothers, Richard, Lonnie, and Lyle Clark. He is survived by his significant other, Tracy Cook; his daughters, Stephanie, Kristen and Tiffany; his sister, Karen (Andy) Kraber; his sons-in-law; Josh Villalobos, Tim Ballalatak, and Brandon Clyde; and his cherished grandchildren. Steve’s life was enriched by the love and companionship of his family, who will continue to honor his memory in their hearts. As we grieve Steve’s passing, we find comfort in the words of Kahlil Gibran: “When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.”
A celebration of life visitation will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, 11 a.m, – 1:00 pm at the Bussey Community Church. Military rites will be held at 1:00 p.m. Memorials have established to the family.
