Applications for Ann Piper Scholarship now being Accepted Online

The Ann Piper Scholarship Committee will begin accepting applications online for the 2026-2027 school year beginning November 3, 2025. Students may apply on-line at: annpiperscholarship.awardspring.com.

The deadline to apply is February 15, 2026, at midnight. Ann (Bonomo) Piper was born in 1920, was a graduate of Eldon High School in 1938 and was married to Marvin Piper in 1947 until his death in 1983. Ann was a member of First Presbyterian Church, the
Ottumwa Women’s Club, Daughters of the Nile Netaker Temple Des Moines, and Ladies Bunco. Ann died in 2017, establishing the Ann Piper Scholarship Trust, intended to benefit Wapello County high school graduates and college students. For the 25/26 academic year, 24 students received $50,000 in scholarships. In three years of the existence of the Ann Piper Scholarship, Wapello County students have been recipients of scholarships totaling approximately $170,000.


To be eligible, applicants must be a resident of Wapello County, Iowa, and enrolled full-time, making satisfactory scholastic progress, in either a four-year college or university in the State of Iowa leading to a bachelor or post-graduate degree or a two-year Iowa college associate arts or science program leading to a four-year course of study and bachelor degree. The scholarship is renewable annually for up to four years.


Applicants must reapply annually. Scholarship grants will be in the amount of at least $1,000 each for the 2026-2027 academic year.
