On May 14th, at approximately 2:00 PM, Spud’s Emporium, in collaboration with GOPIP Ambassadors, proudly held a grand re-opening at its new location: 312 E. Main Street, Ottumwa.
Spud, the owner of the Emporium, shared that the shop originally opened in 1990 at a different spot on Main Street before closing its doors due to unforeseen circumstances. He emphasized that the journey to re-open the shop required a lot of hard work and dedication.
Spud’s Emporium is a treasure trove for enthusiasts, offering a wide variety of board games, comic books, collector cards, pop figures, and more.
To celebrate the grand re-opening, several exciting activities are scheduled for the weekend:
- Saturday at 2:00 – 2:30 PM: Dedication of the new game room, with refreshments provided by Sabinor Latino restaurant.
- Sunday at 1:00 PM: Learn a new game session.
Spud expressed his vision for the Emporium, stating, “Spud’s Emporium is a great place to visit for quality family time.” He hopes to encourage both adults and children to step away from their electronic devices and enjoy time together as a family, offering games suitable for all ages.
