Iowa Workforce Development, the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce, and Grow Fairfield are inviting senior business leaders and human resources professionals to participate in an Employer Listening Session roundtable on Monday, October 5th from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Indian Hills Community College, located at 112 South Court Street in Fairfield, according to a press release from the Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
Iowa Workforce Development senior leadership will be on hand to listen directly to area employers and learn more about the challenges businesses face when it comes to finding and retaining employees. Discussion will focus on workforce challenges, skill gaps, hiring barriers, and emerging workforce needs.
Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mendy McAdams emphasized the importance of local employer participation. “Local employers are on the front lines of our workforce challenges, and their perspective is critical,” McAdams said. “This is an opportunity for our business community to have a direct conversation with Iowa Workforce Development leadership, share what employers are experiencing and help shape strategies that can better support our workforce.”
The listening session is part of an ongoing effort to build stronger connections between the business community and state workforce partners. Input gathered from local employers will be used to help shape workforce strategies and give Iowa Workforce Development a clearer picture of what Fairfield area businesses need to grow and retain their workforce.
