On November 24th, the Ottumwa Police Department made a significant arrest in connection with an ongoing investigation into the sexual exploitation of minors. Josey Williams, a 31-year-old resident of Chillicothe, Iowa, was apprehended and booked into the Wapello County Jail. His arrest stemmed from a warrant issued by the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office, following a months-long investigation that involved multiple court-ordered subpoenas and search warrants.
Williams was later released after posting bond. The Wapello County Sheriff’s Office has emphasized its commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of the community, stating that all cases of exploitation involving minors are taken very seriously. The detective assigned to this case is part of the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, highlighting the collaborative efforts to combat such crimes.
