UPDATE (1-27-26): According to court records, the grooming charge against DeMoss was dismissed on January 22, 2026. Additionally, the no-contact order was lifted.
A southeast Iowa teen was arrested after authorities say she sent sexually explicit messages to an underaged girl earlier this year.
Lillian DeMoss, 18, of Albia was charged with grooming, a Class D felony.
Court records say in September, DeMoss sent multiple messages via SnapChat to a 14-year-old minor that were sexual in nature with the intention of enticing, seducing, luring, or soliciting an unlawful sex act or conduct.
When asked by law enforcement by what she meant in her messages by “teaching” the child, DeMoss allegedly answered she intended to “teach” the minor sexual acts with a female. Court documents also allege DeMoss sent TikTok messages to the girl that asked the victim to be her girlfriend.
A warrant for DeMoss’ arrest is issued on November 18th and she was taken into custody the following day.
DeMoss was transported to the Monroe County Jail and was later released after posting a $5,000 bond.
DeMoss’ initial court appearance is scheduled for November 25th. She’s been ordered not to have any contact with the victim.
