Van Buren County Voters: Key Deadlines and Polling Locations for November 3rd General Election

Van Buren County voters preparing for the November 3rd, 2026 General Election should be aware of several upcoming deadlines for voter registration and absentee voting, according to a press release from Van Buren County Auditor Lisa Plecker.

The pre-registration deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Monday, October 19th. This deadline applies to both in-person registration at the Van Buren County Auditor’s Office and voter registration at a driver’s license station. October 19th is also the final postmark date for mailing pre-registration forms to the Auditor’s Office. Voters who have previously registered in Van Buren County do not need to re-register unless they have had a change of address or name. Those who are unregistered may still register on Election Day by presenting a current and valid photo ID with an expiration date and proof of residence.

Absentee ballots will be available beginning Wednesday, October 14th. In-person absentee voting is available at the Auditor’s Office from October 14th through 4:30 p.m. on Monday, November 2nd. The Auditor’s Office will also be open on Saturday, October 31st from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for absentee voting. Requests for mail ballots must be received by the Auditor’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m. on October 19th. All voted absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by the Auditor’s Office no later than 8:00 p.m. on Election Day to be counted.

Polling locations for the November 3rd General Election are as follows, with polls open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.:

Central precinct — Red Barn at the County Fairgrounds, 20493 Highway 1, Keosauqua. Serves Keosauqua City and Henry, Van Buren, and Vernon Townships, including voters in the Van Buren County School District.

East precinct — Bonaparte Community Improvement Building, 602 8th Street, Bonaparte. Serves Bonaparte City, Farmington City, and Bonaparte, Farmington, Harrisburg, and Washington Townships, including voters in the Van Buren County School District.

North precinct — Birmingham City Hall, 511 East Cedar Street, Birmingham. Serves Birmingham City, Stockport City, and Cedar, Lick Creek, Union, and Village Townships, including voters in the Cardinal, Fairfield, Mount Pleasant, and Van Buren County School Districts.

Southwest precinct — Lebanon United Methodist Church, 21918 Route V64, Keosauqua. Serves Cantril City, Milton City, and Chequest, Des Moines, and Jackson Townships, including voters in the Davis County and Van Buren County School Districts.
