The Sigourney Police Department is asking residents to be aware that Keokuk County Assessor’s Office field assessors will begin conducting property assessment reinspections within the City of Sigourney beginning Monday, September 21st, according to a public notice from the department.

Two Keokuk County Field Assessors will be conducting reinspections throughout the community Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. They will begin on the north side of Sigourney along Jackson Street and work their way through the city.

Residents may notice the field assessors walking around or near residential and commercial properties during those hours. The Sigourney Police Department is aware of the reinspections and is issuing the notice so residents are not alarmed if they observe unfamiliar individuals near properties during that time.

Anyone who observes activity that appears suspicious or inconsistent with the assessment work being conducted is asked to contact law enforcement.
