Eldon will once again turn back the clock this September as the Old Iron Show returns to the Wapello County Fairgrounds for a weekend celebrating vintage machinery, classic vehicles, horses and the history of agriculture.

The three-day event is scheduled for September 25 through September 27, 2026, at the Wapello County Fairgrounds, located at 300 Water Street in Eldon.

Visitors can see a variety of antique tractors, cars, steam engines and other historic equipment throughout the weekend. The event will also feature draft horse demonstrations and a fully operating steam-powered sawmill, giving guests a chance to see how some of this equipment was used in years past.

Live demonstrations will include steam engines, threshing and plowing, along with other activities showcasing old-fashioned equipment and farming practices.

The Old Iron Show is designed for the entire family, with kids’ activities, food and plenty of opportunities to explore the grounds and see the machinery in action.

One of the highlights will be the Parade of Power, scheduled for Saturday, September 26, at 4 p.m. Participants will line up at 3:50 p.m. at the Water Street entrance before parading around the main grounds.

The Parade of Power will feature gas tractors, horses, cars and traction steam equipment.

Organizers invite residents from Eldon and surrounding communities to come out for a weekend of history, horsepower and family fun at the 2026 Old Iron Show.
