UPDATE 4:05 p.m.: Emergency personnel are now diverting eastbound traffic at Exit 199 in Wapello County to Highway 16, then to Highway 1.
The eastbound lanes of Highway 34 near Dewberry Avenue east of Batavia in Jefferson County are shut down after a semi-truck jackknifed, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Eastern Iowa Accidents & Fire.
Drivers are encouraged to take Exit 203 into Batavia, then head south on Ash Avenue, east on 240th Street to Libertyville, and back north out of Libertyville onto Hemlock Avenue.
