A Fairfield man is facing a felony charge after jail staff discovered what appeared to be methamphetamine hidden in his sock following his transport to the Jefferson County Jail.
Keith Robinson, 60, has been charged with Possession of Contraband in a Correctional Institution, a Class D Felony.
According to court documents, jail staff notified officers on July 15th at approximately 8:18 p.m. that they had located a baggie containing a suspected controlled substance inside Robinson’s sock. Robinson had been transported to the jail by officers earlier that day. The baggie weighed approximately 1.4 grams and field-tested positive for methamphetamine.
Robinson is being held on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 27th and his arraignment is set for August 10th.
