A Fairfield man is facing a felony stalking charge after allegedly continuing to make unwanted contact with a protected party despite an active no-contact order.

Joseph Mickels, 33, has been charged with Stalking — Violation of Protective Order, a Class C Felony.

According to court documents, on June 26th Mickels came to the victim’s residence and placed flowers on her vehicle — the second time he had done so within the past week. When she did not respond, Mickels appeared at her residence and attempted to speak with her. The victim did not open the door and spoke to him through it, asking him to leave her alone, according to court documents.

Court documents note that Mickels had previously been arrested for violating a court-ordered no-contact order, and that a warrant had been issued for an additional violation that occurred after his initial arrest. The victim told authorities she is in fear that his actions are escalating.

Mickels is being held on a $30,000 cash only bond. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 7th.
