The Albia Police Department is asking for the public’s help investigating a vandalism incident that damaged patriotic artwork at Urban Grace.
According to the Albia Police Department, an artist had been hired to create patriotic window artwork featuring U.S. presidents. Between approximately 6 p.m. on Friday, July 3, and 10 a.m. on Saturday, July 4, someone intentionally scraped portions of the presidents’ faces from the artwork, causing damage to the display.
Police are asking anyone who was in the area during that time and noticed suspicious activity or saw anyone near the windows to come forward. Investigators say even the smallest detail could help identify the person or people responsible.
