Corteva Agriscience is introducing a new herbicide available to soybean growers in 2027.
Corteva technical field agronomist Ron Geis says Enclosa is a novel pre-plant and preemergence herbicide that controls broadleaf and grass weeds.
“If giant ragweed is a problem, if bur cucumber is a problem, if you’ve been using post-emerge residuals and those weeds are problems, you’re going to want to step up to the Enclosa because it’s going to give you more for just a little bit of a price premium.”
Speaking to Brownfield at the Corteva Research Farm in Johnston, Iowa Thursday, he said Enclosa herbicide is federally labeled and boasts geographic versatility and application flexibility.
“The flexibility allows it to go pre-emerge right as the beans are cracking even, and post-emerge. Because sometimes we have all the intentions of putting a pre-emerge herbicide down, and then the beans are cracking and we have to totally stop and change gears. With Enclosa, you could use that all the way through.”
Geis says Enclosa herbicide features Group 2 and Group 15 modes of action.
