According to the Fairfield Police Department press release, officers with the Fairfield Police Department and deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office responded to the address for a report of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers encountered a male and female subject. The male immediately became uncooperative and refused to comply with officers’ demands.
Court documents provide additional detail on what transpired. Officers made several orders for subjects inside the residence to open the door, and it was apparent from conversations heard through a window that a male was not allowing a female subject to open the door. When the male and female eventually came to the door, the male refused orders to exit the residence and resisted being removed, according to court documents.
While officers attempted to detain Ahmed, he struck an officer in the face, causing the officer’s nose to bleed, according to court documents. Ahmed also refused to be placed in handcuffs and made threats to kill all officers on the scene, court documents state.
According to the press release, officers were able to quickly detain Ahmed and end the altercation. The officer who was struck was able to self-treat on scene and did not require further medical treatment.
Ahmed was transported to the Jefferson County Jail, where he is being held without bond pending an initial appearance.
