The Fairfield Chamber of Commerce is launching a new community event this summer — a festive parade on Wednesday, July 2nd to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States.

The parade will kick off at 6:00 p.m., with participants lining up at Fairfield High School prior to the start. The route will follow the same path as the annual Kiwanis Kids Day Parade, making it a familiar experience for both participants and spectators.

This year’s theme, “Celebrating 250 Years of America,” invites local organizations, businesses, sports teams, and residents to get involved. Whether that means decorating a float, loading up a trailer with a ball team, or bringing a band, all are welcome to take part. Prizes will be awarded for the best floats, so the Chamber is encouraging participants to start planning now and bring their most patriotic ideas to life.

Chamber Board President Ryan Swanson said the event is meant to build on the community’s existing Fourth of July traditions. “We’re excited to add to the July 4th festivities with this new parade and create another opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate,” Swanson said.
