On October 15, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department received multiple calls from witnesses reporting a man standing along I-80 West near Oxford.
Deputies located and questioned 30-year-old Danan Ary of Belle Plaine.
According to court documents, Ary admitted he had been standing behind his vehicle with his pants and underwear around his ankles and his shirt lifted to his chest, exposing his genitals and abdomen to passing traffic. He told authorities he engaged in the behavior to fulfill an “excitement” he felt was missing from his life.
The criminal complaint states Ary acknowledged the behavior was inappropriate, embarrassing, unacceptable, and offensive. Officials say this incident is connected to a similar occurrence reported on October 14.
Ary was taken into custody and is being held at the Johnson County Jail pending court proceedings. His bond has been set at $5,000 cash or surety.
