With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Connie Raye Boylan, a beacon of light and the heart of her family, who left this world on August 12, 2025 at the Monroe County Hospital in Albia.

Born on October 15, 1945, in Des Moines, Iowa to Mason and Mildred “Louise” (Miller) Walker. Connie’s spirited personality and caring nature left an indelible mark on all who knew her. Connie was a vibrant soul who danced her way through life, often lighting up the dancefloor with the Jitter Bug at Harris Hop in the Val Air Ballroom. Her love for cribbage was only surpassed by her love for fishing, an activity she joyfully shared with her boys. She was a woman of many talents, known as a beautician, a cook in the high school systems, and a popular figure at High Noon Saloon, Jolly Rogers, and the Red Barn. Alongside her late husband, Bill Boylan, Connie co-owned and operated a Maid Rite in their younger years, cementing their legacy in the community.

Yet, amidst her numerous roles and responsibilities, Connie always made time for her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy, and her love for them was boundless. Connie’s favorite saying, “Walla,” embodied her cheerful and optimistic outlook on life. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter will forever resonate in the hearts of her loved ones. Connie’s life was a testament to the fact that what matters most is family.

She is survived by her children, Rob Boylan, Cindi Ford; daughter-in-laws, Donna Blake, and Joni Jamison; grandchildren, Mason Boylan, Samanta Nesbitt, Buck Boylan, Jennifer Chinnis; great grandchildren, Lainey Chinnis, Stetson, Swaye, and Slade Nesbitt, and Emma Boylan; sisters, Flo (Gary) Schroeder, Sherry (Bob) Locker, and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mason and Louise Walker; children, James “Jimmie” Boylan, Ronnie Boylan, Jayette “Sis” Sumpter; one sister, Korene Ivy; three brothers, Bill Tholl, Bud Walker & Ron Walker; and dog Sadie Mae.

Visitation will take place on Sunday, August 17, 2025 from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia, with the funeral service being held at 1:00 pm at the funeral home in Albia.

Private family interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
