Ronald D. Jameson, 75, of Milton, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Good Samaritan in Ottumwa.

A private graveside service with military honors will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Birmingham.

Ron was born May 23, 1951 in Fairfield, the son of Richard and Jacque (McBride) Jameson. He married Judy Brown.

Ron served his country for 15 years in the United States Army beginning in 1970 as a radio operator serving in Germany during the Vietnam War. He worked as an over-the-road truck driver.

Survivors include his son, Tyson (Mary Sterling) Jameson of Lawton, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Declan Jameson, Kevin Weathers, and Heaven Weathers; great-grandchild, Aires Lee Johnson; and his good friends and caregivers, Roy Woodruff and Terry Neil.

Ron’s family and friends would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful and caring staff with Hospice Compassus, especially Kandis DeWitt who abundantly gave her love, care, and support to Ron and his caregivers.

     A note from Ron’s friend:

“Ron was a man of quiet strength and deep dedication. That strength was the foundation of everything he did, and it was especially evident in his service to our country as a veteran. His commitment to his country was a testament to his character-he was someone who believed in duty, honor, and looking out for others.

…Veterans possess a unique bond and a specific kind of resilience. Ron carried those qualities with him long after his active duty ended. He approached life with discipline and a steadfast loyalty to his friends. Even when things were tough, he stood tall…”
