Jill Marie Butler, 65, of Fremont died at 2:30 p.m. June 5, 2025 at Serenity Hospice House in Oskaloosa.
She was born June 4, 1960 in Melrose City, MN to James Edward and Sharon Joann Antile Vander Martin. Jill married Daniel Butler September 25, 2009.
Attending school in Oskaloosa she had worked in several restaurants. Jill’s true passion was being a wife, mother, and grandmother.
Jill was a member of the quilting club in Fremont. She enjoyed her bible study group, shopping, traveling, reading, and going out to eat.
Surviving is her husband, Daniel; 5 children, Ann (Travis) Frost of Knoxville, Emily (Channa) Chhouy of Newton, Levi (Mharyale) State of Tulsa, OK, Misty (Michael) Van Steenwyk of Fremont, and Tiffany (Matt) Bartos of Boone; 13 grandchildren, Ezekiel (Rosie) Smith, Tristyn Frost, Sophia and Abigail Chhouy, Eugune, Santiago and Augustine State, Emmett and Owen Bartos, Hannah, Hatcher, Haylie and Hayden Van Steenwyk; a great granddaughter, Elizabeth; a great grandson, Branston; brothers, Russell Vander Martin of Keokuk and George Vander Martin of Oskaloosa; and mother-in-law, Joanne Butler.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her father in law, Sam Butler.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, June 9th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Voels officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Visitation with the family present will be one hour prior to the service on Monday.
