A Knoxville student is facing serious charges after allegedly making multiple false threats involving a firearm at a local school on Friday. According to the Knoxville Police Department, officers responded after receiving four separate 911 calls in the afternoon, two of which included claims of a gun on school grounds.
Investigators quickly determined that the threats were not credible. Following interviews, a juvenile student admitted to making the calls and was taken into custody.
The student has been charged with Threat of Terrorism and Harassment in the First Degree, and is currently being held at a juvenile detention center. The investigation is ongoing but confirmed there was no real danger to students or staff.
