The City of Pella recently held a formal recognition ceremony honoring members of the Pella Fire Department and the Pella Police Department Reserves for their years of dedicated volunteer service. The Mayor and City Council publicly acknowledged individuals who reached significant service milestones or retired during the past year.
The following individuals were recognized:
- Firefighter Austin Vander Linden – for 10 years of dedicated service to the Pella Fire Department.
- Firefighter Jim Gosselink – for 25 years of service marked by consistent commitment and professionalism.
- Firefighter Greg Stump – upon his retirement, in recognition of 25 years of loyal service to the department.
- Police Reserve Officer Glenn Meinders – for 30 years of distinguished service to the Pella Police Department Reserves.
- Fire Chief Randy Bogaard – for 40 years of exemplary leadership and steadfast service to the Pella Fire Department.
- Firefighter Joel Braafhart – upon his retirement, in honor of 45 years of outstanding volunteer service.
