A 62-year-old Bussey man has been sentenced to a prison term of up to ten years after pleading guilty to two counts of lascivious acts with a child.
Rory Alan Colyn received his sentence on March 27, 2025, after admitting to committing the offenses, both classified as Class C felonies. The charges stemmed from an investigation that began on April 5, 2024, when the Pella Police Department responded to a report from a juvenile victim.
According to law enforcement officials, the victim alleged multiple incidents of sexual abuse involving Colyn. Investigators gathered evidence, including a phone interview in which Colyn reportedly made incriminating statements regarding his actions.
Following his conviction, Colyn is required to complete a sex offender treatment program while incarcerated. Additionally, upon his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender and remain under the supervision of the Iowa Department of Corrections.
