Evelyn Beach, 94, of Ottumwa and formerly of Fremont, was born on April 28, 1930, to Roy and Opal (Jones) Fielder in Mahaska County, Iowa.
She graduated from Fremont High School. On November 4, 1954, she married Richard Beach at Ottumwa, Iowa. They had three children: Dennis (Deb) Beach and Daryl (Vicki) Beach both of Fremont, Iowa and Denise (Mike) McBurney of Oskaloosa. Evelyn worked in Fremont for many years at Rhodes Grocery Store, the Fremont Post Office, and later at Walmart. She loved her kids and grandchildren. She loved having a big garden and canning.
Evelyn is survived by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and one brother: Doyle Fielder, who was like a son to her.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, parents, stepmother: Inez and three brothers.
A private graveside service will be held in the Cedar Township cemetery with Kevin Carter officiating.
Fremont Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Oskaloosa VFW.
