Absentee ballots are available for the Special Election on September 10.
The Wapello County Auditors Office announced that absentee ballots may be cast starting today until September 9. Citizen’s that received the absentee ballot have until 8:00 p.m on election day to return them to the Auditor’s Office.
The Auditors Office is located on the 2nd floor of the Wapello County Courthouse.
The special election ballot consists of voting to continue or discontinue the Local Option Sales and Services Tax (LOSST).
Also on the ballot, citizens will vote for city council. Cyan Bossou and Dan Reid are running to fill the seat vacated by Sandra Pope last December. The winner will serve on the City Council until the term ends in January 2026.
