An Ottumwa man is accused of sexually abusing a child for nearly five years.
27-year-old Luis Jimenez has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse (Class B felony), lascivious acts with a child (Class C felony), and indecent contact with a child (aggravated misdemeanor).
According to court records, the abuse occurred between July 2019 and May 2024. Jimenez allegedly inappropriately touched a child and committed illicit sexual acts with the victim.
A warrant for Jimenez’s arrest was issued on July 29 and he was taken into custody on the same day.
Jimenez was transported to the Wapello County Jail and was released after posting a $25,000 bond.
