A heat advisory has been issued for Monday and Tuesday for Wapello, Appanoose, Davis, Lucas, and Monroe County. The heat index for Monday will be up to 105 degrees. Heat values on Tuesday are expected to be between 105 and 110 degrees.
The public is encouraged to take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing.
Additionally, try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening and take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Monday’s high will reach 91 degrees with the high on Tuesday and Wednesday approaching the mid-90s. There is a chance of thunderstorms Wednesday night.
