The City of Ottumwa announced that the Independence Day fireworks will be postponed.
On July 5, the fireworks display is rescheduled to the rain date due to forecasted weather conditions. The display will begin at 9:30.
According to the city, this does not change the time the public is allowed to light fireworks from private property within city limits. City Code limits the use of consumer fireworks to the Fourth of July from 4:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m
