An Ottumwa man died in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 34 on Sunday in Wapello County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, at 2:54 PM, a Ford F150 driven by 37-year-old Tristian Zimmerman was traveling westbound on Highway 34, just west of the Highway 16 interchange.
The accident report states the vehicle drifted off the roadway and entered the north shoulder. The driver lost control and the truck went into the north ditch and overturned. Zimmerman was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck came to rest upright in a farm field. 32-year-old Shayla Zimmerman and two children, ages 3 and 1, were injured and transported to Ottumwa Regional Health Center.
