Norma Jean Henderson, 98, of Ottumwa, died at 4:25 p.m. October 29, 2023 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa.
She was born June 16, 1925 in Lovilia to Walter Herman and Fern Gray Nedderman. Jean married Leslie Paul Henderson on November 4, 1944 and he preceded her in death on October 12, 2020.
A 1943 graduate of Lovilia High School, Jean worked at Madden’s Clothing as a bookkeeper along with helping her husband farm.
She was a member of Zion Community Church of God where she was very involved and helped teach Sunday school.
Surviving are her children, Millie (Dave) Strong of Ottumwa, Robert (Kathy) Henderson of West Plains, MO, Theodore Paul “Ted” Henderson of Bloomfield and Lyle (Deb) Henderson of Tiffin; 10 grandchildren, Shelli, Paul, Bobbi, Heather, Justin, Wesley, Michael, Ryne, Trent and Holly; 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Wendell Nedderman.
Visitation will be open at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 2nd at Reece Funeral Home with the family present to greet friends 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Thursday.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 3rd at Zion Community Church of God. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Lovilia.
