Ottumwa- Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of southeastern Monroe, Wapello, Davis and eastern Appanoose Counties through 915 AM.

At 834 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 8 miles northeast of Lake Sundown to 6 miles northwest of Lancaster. Movement was east at 55 mph. Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail and additional rainfall up to one inch.

Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Ponding of water on roadways, low visibilities, and rises in small streams and creeks.

Locations impacted include Ottumwa, Albia, Bloomfield, Ottumwa Industrial Airport, Lake Sundown, Eldon, Agency, Moulton, Blakesburg, Pulaski, Drakesville, Floris, Unionville, Chillicothe, Udell, Lake Wapello State Park, Albia Municipal Airport and Bloomfield Municipal Airport.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until these storms pass.
