A Henry County accident over the weekend claimed the lives of two individuals and injured three others.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, a vehicle was traveling westbound on Highway 34 on Saturday at 4:09 PM. For some unknown reason, the vehicle went off the roadway to the south, crossed eastbound traffic, entered a ditch on the south, and struck a parked truck causing the vehicle to roll on its side after the collision.
50-year-old Sherry Reid of Stockport and 73-year-old Judith Ellis of Ollie died in the crash.
Sean Reid, 48, of Stockport, and Carol Johnson, 65, of Fairfield were seriously injured and transported to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics in Iowa City.
48-year-old Tammi Ellis was transported to Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center after suffering injuries in the accident.
