The Birmingham Fire Department will conduct hydrant flow tests in coordination with the City of Birmingham on Thursday, August 20th beginning at approximately 9:00 a.m., according to a public notice from Fire Chief Mathias.
Residents may experience temporary interruptions to water service and may notice discoloration of their water during the testing period. Motorists traveling through the area are asked to use caution when approaching fire apparatus, as some of the hydrants being tested are located alongside the highway.
