Fairfield High School senior Archer Kreuter has been selected to the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association Small Schools East roster for the 2026 IHSBCA All-Star Series, earning the chance to wear a Trojan uniform a few more times following the conclusion of his high school career.

Kreuter’s selection comes as no surprise given the numbers he put up this season. Among his team rankings, Kreuter tied for first with 44 hits, led the team with 11 extra base hits — including seven doubles and four triples — and paced the Trojans with 34 RBIs. He drew 24 walks to lead the team, and his .473 batting average, .598 on-base percentage, .731 slugging percentage, and 1.330 OPS all ranked first on the roster. Defensively, Kreuter committed just one error throughout the entire season in the outfield. He also made three appearances on the mound, going 1-0 with a 0.00 ERA in five innings pitched, surrendering just one hit and no runs. Kreuter has committed to Cornell College to continue his baseball career.

The IHSBCA All-Star Series is an annual showcase event that highlights the top graduating high school baseball players in Iowa, giving standout athletes a competitive platform against peers from across the state. Players are divided into four teams based on school size — Large School East, Large School West, Small School East, and Small School West — and compete in a round-robin schedule over three days. The event serves as a key stop for college recruiters and scouts and has long been considered a prestigious tradition in Iowa high school baseball, bridging the gap between the high school and college levels.

The event runs July 30th through August 1st in Cedar Rapids. Kreuter’s Small Schools East squad opens Thursday, July 30th at 5:00 p.m. against Large Schools East at Mount Mercy University Baseball Field, then faces Large Schools West on Friday, July 31st at 10:00 a.m. at Kirkwood Community College. The final game of the round-robin is Saturday, August 1st at 10:30 a.m. against Small Schools West, also at Kirkwood Community College. Each team’s Most Valuable Player will be announced and medals will be presented after each Saturday game.
