Ottumwa Woman Arrested for Theft at Pella Wal-Mart

A theft incident occurred at a Wal-Mart store in Pella, involving a Ottumwa woman who allegedly left the premises with unpaid merchandise.

On November 5, 2025, Teresa Padget, a 59-year-old resident of Ottumwa, was involved in an incident at the Wal-Mart store in Pella. According to police reports, Padget was seen shopping with a full cart of items. However, she exited the store without paying for the merchandise. Surveillance footage captured her leaving the premises with the cart, which contained goods valued at $51.44.

Following the incident, the Pella Police Department took action by requesting an arrest warrant for Padget, citing the theft. The warrant was issued, and on November 14, the Mahaska County Sheriff’s Department served the warrant, apprehending Padget. She is currently detained at the Marion County Jail, facing charges of Theft in the 5th degree, a simple misdemeanor. At this time, no bond has been set, and a pre-trial hearing has not yet been scheduled.
