The Fairfield Area Chamber of Commerce warmly invites everyone to gather for the beloved Annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony, a cherished tradition that brings generations of families together to kick off the holiday season. Join us on Friday, November 28, for a festive evening filled with joy, music, and community spirit!
This year’s celebration, made possible at no cost thanks to our presenting sponsor, Everybody’s Whole Foods, promises to be a magical night. Festivities will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the talented chorus students from Fairfield High School serenading us with classic holiday carols, setting the perfect tone for the evening.
At 6:00 p.m., we’ll honor our Citizens of the Year, Werner Elmker and Diane Goudy, as they lead the countdown to illuminate the town square, bringing the holiday spirit to life. And that’s just the beginning!
Santa Claus will make a grand entrance by horse-drawn wagon, delighting attendees of all ages. After his arrival, the wagon will be available for festive rides throughout the evening, thanks to the generosity of Dexter Laundry.
From 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., children can visit Santa’s House and Workshop, where they can share their holiday wishes and capture the moment with a keepsake photo. Each child will also receive a candy cane and a holiday book to take home, thanks to the support of our wonderful sponsors, including Hy-Vee and AERON Lifestyle Technology.
In Santa’s Workshop, our volunteer elves will help children decorate their own ornaments, crafted by the Fairfield High School’s SkillsUSA Club. Kids can personalize their ornaments with their Santa photos, creating lasting holiday memories. Meanwhile, everyone can enjoy free hot cocoa and cookies at Santa’s Cocoa Hut, sponsored by TDT CPAs & Advisors, SERVPRO, Washington State Bank, and Morrissey Law Offices.
We are also calling for more volunteers to help spread the holiday magic! Join us on the following dates to assist in Santa’s Workshop:

Additionally, we invite the community to participate in our Trees of Lights Campaign, which supports the purchase of new decorations and the maintenance of existing ones throughout the square and community. 100% of all donations go directly into an account designated exclusively for these decorations.
