On October 4, 2025, Oskaloosa Police officers encountered 26-year-old Ladamon Miles, Oskaloosa, near the intersection of High Avenue West and South E Street while investigating an active arrest warrant issued for him in Mahaska County.

As officers approached Miles to discuss the warrant, he reportedly expressed confusion about why he was being taken into custody. However, when the officers began to question him further, Miles fled on foot, running southbound on South H Street.

Despite officers activating their emergency lights and sirens, Miles continued for approximately two blocks before ultimately deciding to surrender. Police took him into custody without further incident.

Miles was transported to the Mahaska County Jail, where he faces charges related to the existing arrest warrant, as well as an additional charge of interference with official acts, classified as a simple misdemeanor. His initial hearing is scheduled for October 15, 2025, at 8:30 AM.
